Synopsis:
(ALSO AVAILABLE IN SPANISH, "los tres caballitos y el burro bravo"). "The Three Little Horses and the Big Bully Donkey" is a tale (based on the "Three Little Pigs"), about three little horse brothers who suddenly lose their house that is destroyed by a fire. The young horses are totally alone and thrust into the reality of having to depend on themselves and each other against a bully donkey, who wanders the forest wrecking homes and bullying the other animals. This warm-hearted tale promotes strong values and has a fun premise. Written and humorously illustrated in vivid color throughout by Liana-Melissa Allen, the story is a proven winner for reading aloud to children.

My Review:
Will I know it may seem I went backwards on my review of this one, since I did the review of the second book yesterday. But, actually this is the way I read them. After reading the second one I really wanted to go and read the first in the series. And may I say I was not disappointed.

Author Liana-Melissa Allen has such a different way of getting under your skin and taking you on a journey that you really don't want to have it come to the end. Not only is her writing inspiring but the tale with in the pages of her books can make and did make me talk a look on how our every day words and actions speak so loudly to not only others but to the ones that are so very close to you.

What amazing characters: The Little Horses and the Big Bully Donkey and the pictures of these guys are great. I love them all and cheer for them. Yes and that even includes the big bully donkey. You may ask why for him also, well when this type of character or person even is acting in this manner there is always a back story and you want them to turn into a good person by the end.

So for the reasons above I am giving this a Breath of Life Rating of:

  Five Clock Rating!!

Disclosure: I did receive the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and or review. But the Opinions are my own and yours may differ.

Hi, I'm so sorry for this late, late, late comment, but thank you so much for reviewing the two books of my "A Horse Valley Adventure" series.(The Three Little Horses and the Big Bully Donkey and my latest, Donkey's Kite).

I so enjoy writing and illustrating my books, and your wonderful honest review of my books makes it an even happier endeavor.

I hope your review will inspire parents to take the time to read to their children, and not just at bedtime...but everyday as a fun event. Just 30 minutes everyday and they will soon become lifelong readers.

My dad read to me every day when I was a tot up through high school. When I was a youngster, he would play a game with me to make sure I was not just listening, but following the words as I sat beside him. He would suddenly stop reading, and I had to instantly continue reading to him. It was so much fun, and we used special voices for the characters, too.

Thank you again for your review...and great blog website, too!
