Jerusha has spent months making the most beautiful quilt anyone in Apple Creek, Ohio, has ever seen, and she knows it's going to take first prize at the Quilt Fair in Dalton. The prize will be her ticket out of the Amish way of life?away from the memories of her dead daughter and her tormented husband. But on the way to the Fair, she gets caught in the Storm of The Century and Jerusha's driver crashes their car. While the driver goes for help, Jerusha is led by someone, or something, to the side of a lost little girl. By the time the storm clears, Jerusha finds there is a greater prize to be won than money and blue ribbons.
A beautiful story of loss?. and redemption.
My Review:
I will start this review out by saying that for the most of you out there know that I love Amish books!
And this book is no exception.
Author Patrick E. Craig is an absolutely amazing Amish writer. The story line kept me wanting more. It is a page turner and believe me when I put it out there that this author knows how to not only tell a story but has you wanting to know what the next chapter holds.
I was raised by a grandma that not only taught me how to sew put to make squares for quilts, how to quilt on a wooden frame hanging from the ceiling in one of the bedrooms in our home. So not only do I love to quilt but I love to read about quilts. This book is one that I will keep in my library for years to come. And I will cherish it.
Apple Creek, Ohio came to life in the story as well as Jerusha Springer. Her journey thru the loss, torment, and wanting to leave the Amish life, the prize she was hoping for, then the accident that puts her into the tail spin and then into a different frame of mind.
What will she do? Will she sell the quilt? Does the lost little girl find her way home?
Due to all of the above reasons I recommend picking this 1st book in the series and read for yourself.
Also I will be giving this book and author the Breath of Life rating of:
Five Clock Rating!!
Disclosure: I did receive the above book in exchange for my honest opinion and or review.
But the Opinions are my own and your may differ.
