Synopsis:
"A beautifully written glimpse into heaven that will encourage those who doubt and thrill those who believe." -Ron Hall, coauthor of "Same Kind of Different as Me"
"Do you remember the hospital, Colton?" Sonja said. "Yes, mommy, I remember," he said. "That's where the angels sang to me."
When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren't expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed-a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy's trip to heaven and back.
Colton, not yet four years old, told his parents he left his body during the surgery-and authenticated that claim by describing exactly what his parents were doing in another part of the hospital while he was being operated on. He talked of visiting heaven and relayed stories told to him by people he met there whom he had never met in life, sharing events that happened even before he was born. He also astonished his parents with descriptions and obscure details about heaven that matched the Bible exactly, though he had not yet learned to read.
With disarming innocence and the plainspoken boldness of a child, Colton tells of meeting long-departed family members. He describes Jesus, the angels, how "really, really big" God is, and how much God loves us. Retold by his father, but using Colton's uniquely simple words, "Heaven Is for Real" offers a glimpse of the world that awaits us, where as Colton says, "Nobody is old and nobody wears glasses."
"Heaven Is for Real" will forever change the way you think of eternity, offering the chance to see, and believe, like a child.
My Review:
I am going to this the most simple way that I can do this review.
In my own experience in this life, I have had two miscarriages. I had a real hard time dealing with this. And even thou I do believe in God and Heaven, and I did carry two children after this. But I still had times that I felt so hard and angry, questioning God why. And one night I did have a dream about my grandmother that raised and had passed away a long time back was rocking my two little ones in her arms. Yes that helped. But last year about this time I read this book.
Oh My Lord!! I did really well and believed every thing that was happening. But when Colton spoke about seeing family members that he had never meet, and well there is one part, and I will not tell about it, but let me say that above the entire book it put me over the top!
I praise the Lord for this book being written. I Believe With All There Is With In Me... Heaven Is For Real!
A Must Must Must Read!! I have given my copy to several different people and it has also given to them the answers they needed. And to be honest I am not even sure where my first copy is. And it doesn't matter as long as it is helping others. And that is my prayer always. I can always get another copy.
So due to the above, if I could it would be higher, I am giving this book a Breath of Life ratings of:
Five Clock Rating!!!
Disclosure: I purchased this book on my own. And the opinions here are mine. Yours may differ but will not change mine.
