One year ago today I started blogging!
Over the last year I have read some awesome books. I started with the amazing author, Dianne Christner. Her books took me into the Amish community in which I fell in love with her and her writing. Something OLD and Something New was the beginning of my book review blog. And a year later I am just starting to read author Dianne Christner's book Something BLUE that is the third book in the series that just came out.
From the beginning and through out this past year I have had Melissa Fosters, Megan's Way, Chasing Amanda, The Key, Come Back To Me, all which I was totally engrossed it them. Chasing Amanda had me watching every child that I saw crying. What a time I had. Author Melissa Foster is a must have author in my library.
Then author Kathi Macias, Deliver Me From Evil, Jim Stovall's with The Ultimate Gift series, Paul Walker, How to Keep Your Joy, Jordan T. Maxwell, Dandyflowers, (my first audio), Matt Patterson, My Emily, Charlotte Hunt, Learning to Dream Again, Sheryl Young, God, Am I Nobody, Francine Rivers, Redeeming Love. Oh My Goodness and so so many many more. And I must say here that EVERY SINGLE ONE of theses AMAZING Authors had me on the edge wanting more.
But I can't go any further here with out mentioning two of my favorites here. One being, Michele Richard, her books and her personally as a author and a friend, have kept me going here on my blog. For one, her amazing writing style, her characters, and how they draw you into the story as if you are right there in the community where they live. I have enjoyed talking with author Michele Richard on a number of times and she has always been encouraging to me. Thanks so much Michele.
Now I have to say another Thank You to author Paula Rose Michelson! Paula has emailed, private messaged me on facebook, not only with encouragement with words but with the scriptures as well. Her book CASA de Naomi The House of Blessing was one that just took my breath away. I can not say enough about the research, writing style, and characters within the pages of her book. Author Paula Rose Michelson is in the process of another book that will be out soon. It is the second book to CASA de Naomi. When I was done reading this book I did not know that there was another book in the process. Let me say here that I wrote to Paula and said, "THERE BETTER BE ANOTHER!!!"
By this time most of what I was reading and reviewing were christian based. And that is where I want to spend most of my time with. But my daughter Alicia, who some of you know as Ali, talked me into reading Article 5 by Kristen Simmons, a paranormal genre, J. D. Watts, Convergence, Suzanne Collins, The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mocking Jay, Dan Wells, Partials. Needless to say I was hooked.
Several other books that I have read this past year includes, Veronica Roth with Divergent, Insurgent, and Amber Garza with Prowl, Becky Banks with The Legend of Lady Maclaoch, all Three Awesome Authors!
Finishing up this year, I have also many many others, but these stand out. Proof by Jordyn Redwood, The Keeper by Suzanne Woods Fisher, The Half-stitched Amish Quilting Club by Wanda Brunstetler, oh, Veronica Roth with Divergent, and Insurgent!
I will have to share with you all as far as another one of my fav's as authors, even though I have only finished one of her books, and in the middle of another, Author B.J. Robinson has also been a great friend here, facebook, and twitter. A constant encourager, and awesome writer. Last Resort was the first book and I am in the middle of Southern Superstitions. Wow.. Awesome and I am so proud to have on my shelves.
I still try my best to stay as much as I can to clean reads. I do not like and have tried my best to not include any thing bad in my reading. I am a minister and most of all a Christian! I love the Lord with all my heart, and try to spread His love. I am going to end this post with one last look back to a book that TOTALLY CAUGHT AND HELD my attention all the way threw!!! Don't take this the wrong way, the books that I have mentioned, I loved them all! But this one is one of the latest one's I have read and reviewed.
The Shelter at Papa's Farm by author Elizabeth M. White took me through what I believe was a heart breaking story of what actually could very well happen. Or what some may say happened a long time ago in another place. But being a minister and growing up the way I did well lets just say, "The Shelter at Papa's Farm" is also a must read and I am very honored that I have gotten to know author Elizabeth M. White as well.
I am looking forward to seeing what authors come up with this coming year. And where my blog will take me as well.
Now for some fun!!!! I have some give-a-ways for you all. Please make sure you enter all of them!!!
