On My Wishlist is a Meme hosted by Book Chick City.
On
My Wishlist is a weekly meme that allows us to share the books we
haven't bought yet but are waiting to be bought and devoured. If you are
anything like me then your wishlist is getting longer by the day! If
you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then
you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by the fab In My Mailbox by Kristi at The Story Siren)
My on My Wishlist includes books that are older and already out, or brand new. Today I am bringing
you four books that I am dying to read and get for my book shelves.
So lets see what we have here this week... I well update when I get these books. There are so many that I
decided to narrow it sown to just four this week.!
Lady in the Attic by Tara Randel
Upon the death of her beloved grandmother, Annie Dawson travels to Stony Point, Maine to tie up affairs and decide the fate of the family home, Grey Gables. In the attic, she comes across an unusual cross stitch featuring a young woman seated on a porch swing of the grand old house. Who is the woman? It isn't her grandmother. Annie is intrigued and determined to discover her identity. Others, however, don't like her nosing around their town. As small incidents begin to happen, Annie wonders, is she in danger? With the help of her new friends in the Hook and Needle Club, a local needlecraft group, Annie sets out to discover clues about the Lady in the Attic. But what will it cost Annie as she grows closer to the truth?
Heart's Safe Passage by Laurie Alice Eakes
It's 1813 and all Phoebe Lee wants out of life is to practice midwifery
in Loudon County, Virginia. When Belinda, her pregnant sister-in-law,
presses Phoebe to accompany her onto a British privateer in order to
cross the Atlantic and save her husband from an English prison, Phoebe
tries to refuse, then finds herself kidnapped.
Captain Rafe Docherty is a man in search of revenge. His ship is no place for women, but he needs Belinda in order to obtain information about the man who destroyed his family and his life. Between Belinda's whining and Phoebe's hostility, Rafe can't help but wonder if he made the right choice.
When it becomes apparent there is an enemy among them on the ship, the stakes are raised. Will they reach the English shore in time? Can love and forgiveness overcome vengeance?
The Binding by L. Filloon
Two nights after her
eighteenth birthday, Lily is attacked while out jogging, but is saved by
Tharin Lunar, a Sidhe prince. When she discovers that her attacker is
her own brother, Lucas, who disappeared four years ago, Lily refuses to
believe that her brother would truly hurt her and becomes determined to
find Lucas and bring him home. Lily finds that Lucas’ disappearance is
somehow tied to Tharin; so when he informs her that she is his betrothed
and must return with him to Velesi, fulfill a treaty between their
families and unite the two strongest clans through their marriage, Lily
agrees. However, she’s not going to Velesi for a wedding, but to bring
home her only family, Lucas.
On their journey to the borders of Velesi, the realm of the Thirteen Clans, they’re pursued by a Sidhe assassin group call the Ange, meet with an ogre crime lord that ends badly, deal with a sleazy troll motel manager, and when they discover that there’s a bounty on their heads, they must keep one step ahead of every assassin, bounty hunter and low-life criminal in Velesi.
Protecting Lily has become the biggest challenge of Tharin’s life. Lucky for him he has help in the form of his twin brother, Tolan, Lily’s best friend Julia and his three bodyguard cousins.
