you would like to take part and have your own 'On My Wishlist' post then
you can find more info here. (This post was inspired by the fab In My Mailbox by Kristi at The Story Siren)
My on My Wishlist includes books that are older and already out, or brand new. Today I am bringing
you four books that I am dying to read and get for my book shelves.
So lets see have here this week... I well update when I get these books. There are so many that I
decided to narrow it sown to just four this week.!
Title: The Lost Crown
Author: Sarah Miller
Publisher: Atheneum
Olga, Tatiana, Maria, and Anastasia. Like the fingers on a hand --
first headstrong Olga; then Tatiana, the tallest; Maria the most hopeful
for a ring; and Anastasia, the smallest. These are the daughters of
Tsar Nicholas II, grand duchesses living a life steeped in tradition and
privilege. They are each on the brink of starting their own lives, at
the mercy of royal matchmakers. The summer of 1914 is that precious
last wink of time when they can still be sisters together -- sisters
that link arms and laugh, sisters that share their dreams and worries,
and flirt with the officers of their imperial yacht.
But in a gunshot the future changes -- for these sisters and for Russia.
As World War I ignites across Europe, political unrest sweeps Russia. First dissent, then disorder, mutiny -- and revolution. For Olga, Tatiana, Maria and Anastasia, the end of their girlhood together is colliding with the end of more than they ever imagined.
At the same time hopeful and hopeless, naïve and wise, the voices of these sisters become a chorus singing the final song of Imperial Russia. Impeccably researched and utterly fascinating, this novel by acclaimed author Sarah Miller recounts the final days of Imperial Russia with lyricism, criticism and true compassion.

Title: The Storyteller
Author: Antonia Michaelis
Publisher: Amulet Books
Anna and Abel couldn’t be more different. They are both
seventeen and in their last year of school, but while Anna lives in a
nice old town house and comes from a well-to-do family, Abel, the school
drug dealer, lives in a big, prisonlike tower block at the edge of
town. Anna is afraid of him until she realizes that he is caring for his
six-year-old sister on his own. Fascinated, Anna follows the two and
listens as Abel tells little Micha the story of a tiny queen assailed by
dark forces. It’s a beautiful fairy tale that Anna comes to see has a
basis in reality. Abel is in real danger of losing Micha to their
abusive father and to his own inability to make ends meet. Anna
gradually falls in love with Abel, but when his “enemies” begin to turn
up dead, she fears she has fallen for a murderer. Has she?
Award-winning
author Antonia Michaelis moves in a bold new direction with her latest
novel: a dark, haunting, contemporary story that is part mystery, part
romance, and part melodrama.
