I will be doing these nine stories individually.

  About The Author

Michelle Ule is a long-time follower of Jesus who lives in northern California. A native of San Pedro, California, she graduated from UCLA where she marched in the clarinet section of the band and wrote for the UCLA Daily Bruin.

Michelle is a direct descendent of the Reverend Thomas Hanks depicted in  The Dogtrot Christmas. A noted genealogist in some of the more obscure corners of the Internet, she's the author of Pioneer Stock and Travels with Jeanette, along with several other genealogy books and traveler's tales. Her debut novella, The Dogtrot Christmas, was published in Barbour Publishing's A Log Cabin Christmas anthology, September 2011.

Michelle is a retired Navy wife; she has a terrific husband, four brilliant children, two perfect daughter-in-laws and two and a half adorable grandchildren. She teaches Bible study to a group of precocious women, counsels women in crisis at a local pregnancy counseling center, and works at a landmark literary agency. In her free time, she writes and reads.

 My Thoughts

This story was I believe one of the ones best kept my attention. How Michelle captured my attention by the way she describes each of her characters. Her character, Molly Faires stood by her brother and his son after the death of her sister-n-law on the trail. Taking on the care of the young boy and the care of the home, even though it could possible delay her own future for a family of her own.

Threats of Indians, wild life, then Luis Vasco de Carvajal comes on the scene, now they face the possibility of the loss of the land they purchased to become their home.  What a colorful character Luis turns out to be. After his family believes he is dead, he comes back on the scene to find his sister has married a man ten years her senior. A greedy, lazy, would do what ever it took to get money. But Mamacita and his sister needed a man around the house since Luis was gone.

So will Molly marry and have her own family? Will her and her brother Jamie keep their land?

As with my other reviews of this collection of stories, I am not going to go any further except to say these are an awesome collection of amazing authors. And A Must Read.... And that is why I am giving this story as well my rating as:
