Synopsis:
FROM THE BACK COVER:
She's smart, pretty, and runs her own business. So then why does she feel so dead inside? Between work, two kids, and a husband who finds her about as exciting as furniture shopping, this is the story of a (formerly-exciting but now way-too-typical) suburban mom who diagnoses herself with "Momnesia" and sets about finessing a new version of her old vivaciousness:
MOMNESIA (mahm-nee-zhuh) -noun-
Loss of the memory of who you used to be. Caused by pregnancy, play dates, and trying to keep the house cleaner than the Joneses.
She finds some adventure pursuing her own interests, and does make some new friends (including the battery operated variety), but still feels like nothing more than a caretaker.
In between dealing with her husband's manic-depressive behavior, drama with her friends, and some naughty Internet escapades, she keeps facing the question, "Is it that I haven't been myself? Or is it that I am being myself but just different than I used to be?" It isn't until she tosses the Invisible Rule Book altogether that she discovers life--and love--have more to offer than she ever imagined!
My Review:
Well let me start by saying this book was funny, hit home in some things. The only thing was I had a little bit of a hard time reading it due to it just didn't really keep my attention.
Not all marriages are like these written about in this book. But I am sure that some women do feel like they are going crazy at times. I did like however the way author Lori Verni-Fogarsi wrote how the mom diagnoses herself. I have done that and in some ways identified with Momnesia myself.
But there where times within the book that I lost interest in reading. Possible due to the way it seemed that she was constantly either putting herself down or someone else down.
I will go no further with in the book than this. You know why, I feel that you as a reader need to read this for yourself due to the fact you may love it. I will say this though, I will be looking into some other books by author Lori Verni-Fogarsi.
And so due to the above I am giving this book a Breath of Life Rating of:
Four Clock Rating!!!
Disclosure: I did receive this book in exchange for my review. But the opinions are mine, your opinion may differ, and that is fine with me.

About the Author:Lori Verni-Fogarsi has worked as a freelance writer, journalist, columnist, and seminar speaker for more than fifteen years. MOMNESIA is her first novel (publication date 3/16/2012) and she is the author of the nonfiction book, EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT HOUSE TRAINING PUPPIES AND ADULT DOGS (published in 2005), which has been widely acclaimed in its genre.
Verni-Fogarsi began her writing career in an unusual way: With a monthly newsletter for her small business--a dog training school! Over time, she became well known not only for her dog behavior knowledge and writing skills, but also for her business acumen. She was surprised at first when she was approached by magazines and newspapers requesting articles on pet behavior, small business, and parenting, as well as universities and advanced placement programs requesting seminars on pets and business marketing.
For 15+ years, her articles have appeared in a multitude of publications including "New York Parent," "The Pet Gazette," "Franchise Advantage," and many more. She has worked as a journalist and columnist for the Heartland Publications family of newspapers, and has taught seminars at Nassau Community College, North Carolina State University, and many private and corporate venues.
Most recently, Verni-Fogarsi completed her novel, MOMNESIA, which has a publication date of March 16, 2012. A fun and feisty read, she is excited to bring you this funny, yet thought-provoking story of a suburban mom trying to find balance between her "momminess" and her "sexiness." Enhanced by custom-painted artwork, a Reader's Discussion Guide, and a national and virtual book tour, MOMNESIA is expected to be a big hit with book clubs, discussion groups, and more.
Verni-Fogarsi is a happily married mother of two and step mom of two more. In her free time, she enjoys traveling with her husband, Mark, as well as reading, dining out, boating, napping, and hitting the town. Many of their weekends are also hectically enjoyed attending their childrens' various activities, including dance competitions, drill team meets, chorus, and theater performances. She has two cats, both rotten.
Verni-Fogarsi divides her time between Raleigh, NC, and Lake Gaston, VA, where she is hard at work on her next novel, about a couple of almost-empty-nesters who are faced with the sudden appearance of a pregnant teenage daughter they never knew existed.
