So today I have a great post for you, it was meant to go up yesterday and for that I am sorry but here it is. Below you will find a great guest post from the author and all this great books information. Enjoy.
Island Bed & Breakfast Inspires “The
Guestbook”
As
most of my readers know, I make my home on Whidbey Island, the largest island
off the coast of Washington
state. One summer, a close friend and I visited
a charming local B&B called Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast and during our
stay, the idea was born for my debut fiction novel “The Guestbook.”
Farmhouse Bed & Breakfast
“The
Guestbook” takes place on fictional Madrona
Island, a majestic island in the Pacific Northwest full of quirky residents and delicious
gourmet food. If you are familiar with Whidbey at all, you will likely notice
the similarities right away. I was also inspired to make a bed & breakfast
– the Madrona Island Bed & Breakfast Inn - the central setting for the
book.
In
this first book of the Madrona
Island trilogy, Lily Parkins flees her overbearing
husband and life among the privileged set to take over the Madrona Island
B&B, an inheritance from her grandmother. Left with only an old guestbook as her
guide–a curious book full of letters, recipes, and glimpses into her family
history–Lily is determined to embrace her newfound independence and recreate
herself one page at a time. She struggles to
rediscover her own identity, but must ultimately decide if she’s strong enough
to pursue her dreams and to fall in love again.
“The Guestbook” is written as comfort food for the
reader’s soul - full of friendship, love, and mouth-watering meals. Perhaps
you, too, will be inspired by the light-hearted story while nestled under a
warm blanket in a bed & breakfast or on an island of your choice. Finding a
bed & breakfast on an island is a bonus!
Later today I will be posting my review of this book as well. Make sure you stick around for that. And Thanks so much for being on the blog today Andrea, I loved reading your book and this great post.

I just finished The Guestbook and. Loved it. You made the area beautiful. I cannot wait for the next book. The fact that Kylahas lupus makes it more interesting because I have had lupus for almost 30 years. Again a beautiful story thank you. Pam
