Today is my stop on the But God: Two Words to Freedom Blog tour and I have a great guest post from author Jennings Wright to share with you all.  Plus a giveaway at the bottom of this post.

BUT GOD: Two Words to Freedom is about a journey. There is a lot of autobiographical information in it, only because I want the reader to know that I’m living this out. It’s not an academic exercise for me. But the journey is there for any Believer who is willing to start it, and I wrote the book to encourage people who might be feeling something along  the lines of, “Isn’t there more to the Christian life than this??”

Guest post: Going Green by Travis Simmons

Monday, June 17, 2013

So today on the blog I have author Travis Simmons talking about his new book and going green.  Enjoy!

Going Green

The item? A lawn mower. A really old type of lawn mower, with an updated look. This is one of those things you push, and as you push it propels the blades around and trims the grass.

Darkness. Twisted steel. Patches of blood-soaked snow. Even after six years, these are the things Michael McGavin sees when he thinks of Christmas. Fragments of memory about a car crash he barely survived, and still sometimes wishes he hadn’t. Because he hadn’t been alone in the car that night. Abigail Tanner had been his girlfriend, his best friend, and her body had been thrown so far from the crash site that rescuers hadn’t been able to find it. On the day of her funeral, Michael buried a piece of his soul with her empty casket. On the sixth anniversary of the crash, Michael returns home to spend Christmas with his family. His one and only hope is that this Christmas passes as quickly and quietly as the others have.
